This loading and unloading course aims to instruct the operator in the correct safety procedures for the loading, unloading and securing of plant machinery prior to or following transportation by road.

  • VEHICLE LOAD ? Vehicle Inspection, Inspection of Item to be loaded, Positioning the Vehicle to be Loaded, Vehicle Inspectorate Plate, Load Calculation, Load Calculations & Positions, Forward Projecting Loads, Rear Projecting Loads, Large Loads, Checks Before Moving Off, Large Loads, Load Distribution, Vehicle and Load Weights

Who is it for?

This course is to instruct the operator in the correct safety procedures for the loading, unloading and securing of plant machinery prior to or following transportation by road.

You will need

Candidates will be required to bring suitable PPE with them on this course.

Your skill level

All applicants must have satisfactorily completed a recognised Operator’s course.

They should hold a valid Operator’s licence for the relevant categories of plant e.g. MEWP, Forklift, Dumper OR the Employer must provide written evidence of competency of plant operation before commencing the course.

Applicants should also hold a current driving licence for the type of vehicle to be loaded or the Employer must provide written evidence of the candidate’s familiarisation with the vehicle.

Yes, there are a lot of FREE car parking spaces available in the area.

There are a variety of hotels and B & B’s in the area. There is a list available to assist you with booking your stay.

Am I going to feel safe during my course participation?

Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.

I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?

Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
