5 days Level 3 IRATA Certificate

Course Summary

A level 3 supervisor must be capable of complete responsibility for work projects, undertaking advanced rescues and have a comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation.

This Level 3 course will include:

  •     Demonstrate Level 1 and Level 2 skills
  •     Rigging ropes for both work and rescue
  •     Knowledge of pulley systems
  •     Maintenance and inspection of equipment
  •     Worksite organisation
  •     Rescue from a large variety of situations
  •     Oral and written examination including – legislation, guidence and standards
  •     Assessment by an approved IRATA assessor

On successful completion of this course candidates will be rewarded with a Level 3 IRATA Certificate.

Who is it for?

This 5 day course is designed for delegates who already hold level 2 IRATA qualification and wish to progress onto Level 3.

You will need

All equipment required throughout your course will be provided.

You will also need the following: warm / waterproof clothing for that time of year as well as safety footwear. N.I. Number and your IRATA log book (completed).

Your skill level

You need to be of a min age of 21 years and shall be a qualified IRATA level two technician with a minimum of twelve months experience and 1000 hours work experience. This must include a variety of work situation and techniques. You must hold a current first aid qualification and a valid medical certificate.

What is IRATA?

The Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) is an association of industrial rope access companies and individual members. The organization has headquarters in the United Kingdom. While the majority of IRATA member companies and technicians are based in the UK, the organization has members and certified technicians throughout the world. IRATA’s primary purpose is to ensure that its member companies operate in a safe and professional manner. The IRATA technician certification program is an important part of its mission.

I let my IRATA certification expire, how do I get re-certified/upgrade?

Re-assessment/evaluation shall be completed before current certification expires. For the avoidance of doubt this means that certification must be valid on the day of testing. There is no ?grace period’.

In regards to IRATA currency, if you do expire there are specific procedures to follow to become active again depending on many factors. If re-training and successful assessment are completed in the 6 month period prior to the expiry of a current certificate, a new certificate will be issued with an expiry date 3 years from the date of expiry on the previous certificate.

Do I need to pay for my training before I do it?

Yes, but as with all special requirements that differ from the norm, please make us aware of your requirements and we will do our best to provide the appropriate support.

Are there any car parking spaces available?

Yes, there are a lot of FREE car parking spaces available in the area.

What accommodation is available?

There are a variety of hotels and B & B’s in the area. There is a list available to assist you with booking your stay.

Am I going to feel safe during my course participation?

Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.

I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?

Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
