The course is for anyone wishing to develop an awareness of the hazards associated with sharps and how to avoid injury and illness that may arise from sharps, needle-stick injuries and blood borned viruses.
The Sharps Training course is designed for delegates in any sector of business who are likely to come into contact with Sharps or Clinical waste. The delegates will develop an awareness of how to deal with and dispose of sharps and clinical waste correctly and safely and to cover your companies approach to safe working practices and the emergency procedures associated.
The Sharps Training course content is as follows:-
- Introduction to the definition of a sharp and clinical waste
- Understanding the risks from sharps and clinical waste
- Measures available to prevent injury
- How to prevent contamination and the health risks associated
- Your companies approach to safe working
- Where sharps are found
- Collection and disposal of sharps
- Emergency procedure for dealling with sharps injuries
Delegates will receive a Certificate of Attendance which is valid for 3 years
You are not required to take any equipment on the Sharps Training course.
No previous experience or qualifications are needed in order to take the Sharps Training course.

Am I going to feel safe during my course participation?
Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.
I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?
Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
