Course Summary
The Train the Trainer - Forklift course is for those who wish to train others to drive Forklift Trucks.
The Train the Trainer – Forklift Course agenda will include:-
- Operating a Lift Truck to the standard required for lift truck instructors.
- Structuring training materials into a logical sequence for teaching knowledge and skills.
- Adopting an effective style for teaching skills appropriate to the type of truck involved.
- Adopting an objective and critical approach towards the effectiveness of the instruction they present and an appropriate method of assessment of trainees’ progress, and the setting up and testing of trainees’ basic operating skills.
The examination consists of 3 elements:-
*Test of Basic Operating Skills (practical test to instructor standard - max 25 penalties). This is carried out on the first day of the course by the course tutor.
*Examination of Practical Abililty (40 minutes). Delegates must score a minimum of 70 from a maximum of 100 to pass this element. This examination is carried out on the final day of the course and is conducted by an independent examiner.
*Examination of Instructor Associated Knowledge (20 minutes). A minimum of 80% must be achieved to pass this element. This examination is carried out on the final day of the course and is conducted by an independent examiner.
All 3 elements must be successfully completed to achieve an overall pass and qualify as a Lift Truck Instructor. Successful candidates can then register on the National Register of Instructors for a period of 5 years.

Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.
I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?
Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
