Working at Heights Course is ideal for any candidate who may be required to work at height during the course of their jobs, including managers, supervisors and operatives. The course incorporates working at height regulations to the use of safety harnesses and everything in between.
Course Summary
This Working at Height training course helps you to comply with the Work at Height Regulations 2005 by providing employers and employees with the necessary information needed to be able to successfully deal with working at height risks and control measures. This includes an understanding of how to undertake a working at height risk assessment, how to use access equipment safely and how to ensure that employees can reduce their risk of falls from height.
The course content is as follows:
- Introduction to Work at Heights Regulations
- Access and Egress, Loading Places
- Ladders
- Landing Places
- Openings, Corners, Breaks, Edges and Joisting
- Roof Work (Flat roofs/Sloping roofs/Steep roofs etc.)
- Fragile Roofing Materials
- Work over Water
- Safety Nets, Belts and Harnesses
- Equipment for working at height: Scaffold, MEWPS, Towers
- SG4:10 Requirements for Scaffolders
The aims of the course are to enable delegates to:
- Actively promote safety wherever employed to be working at height
- Reduce major injuries and accidents from working at heights
- Ensure compliance with all well-established safety procedures and all current relevant legislation
On successful completion of this course candidates will be entitled to an industry recognised Certificate of Attendance.
Candidates will be required to bring suitable PPE with them on this course.

Is previous experience required to attend this course?
No previous experience is necessary. But it would be envisaged that you will have a good working knowledge of the Work at Height Regulations and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
What do I need to do to comply with the Work at Height Regulations 2005?
The Regulations apply to all work at height, where there is risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury. They place duties on employers, and those who control any work at height activity (such as facilities managers or building owners who may contract others to work at height).
As part of the Regulations, you must ensure:
all work at height is properly planned and organised
those involved in work at height are competent
the risks from work at height are assessed, and appropriate work equipment is selected and used
the risks of working on or near fragile surfaces are properly managed
the equipment used for work at height is properly inspected and maintained
