Course Summary
However to comply with Health and Safety legislation in construction all operators should be trained and competent to operate the equipment that they are using. There are a number of ways to achieve this competency, generally the most accepted would be to hold a Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) card for the appropriate category of equipment.
On successful completion of this course, candidates will be awarded with a CPCS operator card.

Who is it for?
Excavator / digger training for novice operators will be a 10 day course with an option of taking a CPCS achievement test.
You will need
Candidate will be required to bring PPE with them for this course:
- Hard hat
- High-vis Jacket
- Steel toe-capped boots
- Safety gloves
- Safety eye-wear

This course is for anyone who uses or will be using excavator / digger in either the land-based or construction industry. The course will allow you to develop the skills and knowledge required in order to operate the machine in a safe and confident manner.

Am I going to feel safe during my course participation?
Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.
I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?
Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
