Course Summary

The NPORS Fall Arrest Harness course is designed to equip delegates with the knowledge to choose, inspect, fit and use a safety harness.

The Fall Arresst Harness course consists of both theory and practical instruction.

At the end of the Fall Arrest Harness course you will take a short theory and practical assessment which, after successful completion will provide you with an NPORS card which is vaild for 3 years, together with the essential knowledge and insight into the design, testing and manufacturing processes, together with the skills to test damaged equipment. Furthermore, this course will provide you with the correct legislation, guidance, standards and best practice to allow you to design an examination process and inspection report for all common work at height equipment. It is recommended that all delegates refresh their training every 3 years with the NPORS Fall Arrest Refresher Course.

Who is it for?

Any personnel who are required to use or supervise the safe use and inspection of a harness.

Your skill level

No formal qualification or experience is necessary, but it would be beneficial if delegates had a basic understanding of the working at height regulations and health and safety at work act 1974.

Can you cater for students with special needs?

Yes, but as with all special requirements that differ from the norm, please make us aware of your requirements and we will do our best to provide the appropriate support.

Are there any car parking spaces available?

Yes, there are a lot of FREE car parking spaces available in the area.

What accommodation is available?

There are a variety of hotels and B & B’s in the area. There is a list available to assist you with booking your stay.

Am I going to feel safe during my course participation?

Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.

I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?

Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.

Can candidates who have never used a Harness participate in the operator course?

Yes.
