The Harness Inspection Course consists of both theory and practical instruction
- Health and safety at work legislation and regulations
- Selecting fall arrest and restraint equipment
- Traceability
- CE markings
- Correct fitting of harnesses
- Shock absorbing lanyards and fall arrest blocks
- Anchor points and connectors
- Care, storage and maintenance of equipment
- Inspection of harness per each individual
- Manufacturers instruction manual MIM and associated paperwork
At the end of the Harness Inspection Course you will take a short theory and practical assessment which, after successful completion will provide you with the essential knowledge and insight into the design, testing and manufacturing processes, together with the skills to test damaged equipment. Furthermore, this course will provide you with the correct legislation, guidance, standards and best practice to allow you to design an examination process and inspection report for all common work at height equipment.

Your skill level
No formal qualification or experience is necessary, but it would be beneficial if delegates had a basic understanding of the working at height regulations and health and safety at work act 1974.

Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.
I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?
Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
Can candidates who have never used a Harness participate in the operator course?
