All personnel required to operate a Telehandler Forklift Truck complete this training and testing.
Course Summary
This course provides candidates with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating a Telehandler Forklift to the NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) standard.
Candidates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations / exercises, all of which are highlighted by the use of OHP & Videos covering;
- An Introduction to the Construction Industry
- Current relevant regulations
- Introduction to machine
- Pre-shift inspections
- Controls and instruments
- Components and main types of lift trucks
- Re-fuelling systems
- Coolant, fuel and lubricant systems
- Emergency controls – Manoeuvring over uneven ground
- Operators safety code
- Handling loaded/unloaded pallets and difficult shaped loads
- Loading and unloading flat bed lorries and at various heights
- NPORS assessment, which includes Theory and Practical elements
On successful completion of the NPORS assessments, candidates will be issued with an NPORS Operator Card.

Am I going to feel safe during my course participation?
Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.
I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?
Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
