Course Summary
The CPCS ride on roller course is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills required in order to operate a ride on roller.
The road roller course consists of both theory and practical instruction including:
- An introduction to the construction industry
- Introduction to the roller
- Carrying out pre-shift inspections
- Instruments and controls
- Lubricartion, coolant and fuel systems
- Rolling and compacting
- Compacting junctions
- How to use and apply correct staggers and overlaps
- Maintain cross-falls and cambers
Upon successful completion of both the CPCS theory and practical elements of the technical test for Ride on Road Roller Training, candidates are entitled to a CPCS Red Trained Operators Card.
