Course Summary

Our Scaffold Appreciation and Inspection course will ensure delegates have an understanding of scaffolding structures and will provide methods of erecting and dismantling, furthermore it will enable delegates to identify faults and hazards on inspection.

The course will cover the following areas in Scaffold Appreciation and Inspection:-

  •     Introduction
  •     Current legislatio and standards of Work at Height Regulations 2005 to British and European Standards
  •     Definitions of scaffold
  •     Scaffolding structures
  •     Erection of scaffolds
  •     Dismantling of scaffolds
  •     Tube and fitting scaffolding elements
  •     TG20:08 (compliance check for inspectors and clients)
  •     SG4:10 (safe methods of preventing falls)
  •     Scaffolding hazards and faults
  •     Ties and braces

All delegates will be required to complete a written test paper and a practical assessment following this course. Upon successful completion of the examination and course, you will be entitled to an approved Certificate of Training.

Who can inspect Scaffold?

Only a trained, competent person can carry out scaffolding inspections.

How often does Scaffolding need to be inspected?

Scaffolding must be inspected before first use and every seven days thereafter. Scaffolding should also be inspected more often if they are used in bad weather conditions.

Are there any car parking spaces available?

Yes, there are a lot of FREE car parking spaces available in the area.

What accommodation is available?

There are a variety of hotels and B & B’s in the area. There is a list available to assist you with booking your stay.

Am I going to feel safe during my course participation?

Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.

I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?

Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
