Course Summary
The Vehicle Banksman course is designed for personnel who are involved with the movement of vehicles and covers a range of topics including understanding the roles of the driver and banksman, understanding key issues arising out of reversing and manoeuvring vehicles.

- Regulations
- What is a Banksman
- Understanding the Roles of the Driver and Banksman
- Understanding the Key Issues arising out of reversing and manoeuvring vehicles
- Identify danger areas when manoeuvring vehicles
- Demonstrate recommended signals
- Theoretical and practical assessments
(Please Note: this course does not cover plant machinery)
On successful completion of the Vehicle Banksman course, delegates will be awarded a Certificate of Competence which is valid for 3 years.
Candidates are required to bring suitable PPE with them on this course:
- Hard hat
- High-vis Jacket/Vest
- Safety gloves
- Steel-toe capped boots
There are no formal entry requirements for this course but learners should possess communications skills sufficient to allow them to address the assessment requirements of the qualification.

I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?
Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
