Course Summary

The slinger banksman course is to provide delegates with the knowledge of how to safely guide crane operators with hand and radio signals and allow personnel to carry out basic slinger procedures safely.

The slinger banksman training course consists of both theory and practical instruction including:

  •     Provision and Use of Work Equipment (PUWER) 1998
  •     The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998
  •     Working load limits
  •     Safety certificates
  •     Safe working loads
  •     Safe operating practices
  •     Weight estimation
  •     Inspection lifting tackle
  •     Slinging methods
  •     Carrying out pre-lift checks
  •     Correctly check lifting accessories
  •     Lifting and moving
  •     Carrying out post lifting checks

Upon successful completion of the slinging and banksman course, you will receive certificate of completion.

The Slinger Banksman novice course is great for novice operators who wish to be trained in slinging procedures.

Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.

I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?

Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
