Course Summary

Novice Material Re-Handler 360 Course is designed to provide the attendees with an understanding of their industry and their responsibilities as trained operatives. (5 days)

The Experienced Worker Assessment is for operator that can confirm that they have been operating and have sufficient experience on a Material Re-Handler 360 or have let there Accrediting Body card run out and/or need to change Accrediting Body. (1 day)

On completion of the Material Re-Handler 360 Course candidates will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

  • Have a basic understanding of your industry, the dangers of working in your industry and their responsibilities as an operator.
  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used.
  • Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions.
  • Be able to locate and identify steering, driving and braking controls and explain their functions.
  • Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements.
  • Safely mount and dismount the machine.
  • Start and stop the engine and safely move the machine off and stop it safely.
  • Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely across varying terrain in open and confined areas.
  • Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area.
  • Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry out excavating tasks.
  • Carry out excavating tasks
  • Load material onto transporting vehicles or into containers.
  • Reinstate excavation, grade and level ground.
  • Fit and remove attachments.
  • Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures.

 

NPORS Plastic identity card with photo, this card is issued by NPORS.
In house certificates, this is suitable proof of operator competence accepted for insurance and HSE compliance.

Who is it for?

This NPORS Material Re-Handler training programme is designed for any personnel who are required to use or work with a Material Re-Handler.

You will need

Delegates should provide a passport photograph on the day of training for production of ID Cards.

Delegates should inform their trainer if they have any serious health issues, physical problems, special considerations or are taking any medication, which may create difficulties in undertaking elements of this training course.

For training held at your own location, please ensure that the classroom you make available has a 240v power supply and is a suitable size for the number of delegates attending. Please ensure that the practical area has been risk assessed, is free from harm, is suitable for training and the necessary plant machinery is available.

Do I need to pay for my training before I do it?

Can you cater for students with special needs?

Yes, but as with all special requirements that differ from the norm, please make us aware of your requirements and we will do our best to provide the appropriate support.

Yes, there are a lot of FREE car parking spaces available in the area.

What accommodation is available?

There are a variety of hotels and B & B’s in the area. There is a list available to assist you with booking your stay.

Am I going to feel safe during my course participation?

Beside the fact that our staff and the environment of the school will make you feel happy and safe, CCTV is operating in most of the school’s areas.

I’m getting on a bit, is it like going back to school and will I feel out of place?

Not at all. A large percentage of our learners are mature students simply keeping up to date with current standards. Everybody is made to feel welcome in the centre.
